Happy Birthday Evelina !!

Happy Birthday Evelina !!

Yes, it was my friend Evelina's birthday last week - March 19 to be exact.  I was most excited as she came in to visit with me Friday and part of Saturday. We had an awesome time just hanging out touring some of the little shops by us. Not to mention my daughter was so kind as to be our chauffeur. She drove us from one stop to the next.

So how did we spend our time.... well to start off we picked her up at the bus station. Hugs, kisses and a Starbuck's we were off to a good start ! Our fist stop was to a shop in St. Thomas - Diamonds and Toads  what a sweet shop. We wanted to stop in to check out the Annie Sloan chalk paint. Love the whole idea of this little shop, not to mention I'm signing up for one of their workshops. I want to paint my kitchen cupboards with this paint.

After that we stopped for lunch, then headed to the Marsh Store in Ilderton to pick up some quilting fabric. Oh my goodness we both just love fabric so we literally wandered around the shop touching fabrics and dreaming about all the beautiful quilts we'd like to make. We both have plenty of projects on the go and know that anything we pick up we'd need to sneak in the house (tee hee).

After the quilt shop we headed to Scrappin Great Deals. A great place for all your craft needs. Sheila and her staff are incredible to deal with. I'm so excited because Sheila was telling me they will be getting the Project Life line in. Oh my be still my heart I can hardly wait.!!!!

Just a little down the road we stopped at the Gingerbread House bakery to pick up some treats, including some yummy gelato !! Are you tired yet because we weren't so we headed on to Target. We had a store open this week in our city so of course we had to check it out. We were not let down we found some nice things and enjoyed the store. We were totally amused by the escalator that moved our shopping cart from one level to the next. Okay so perhaps we were starting to get a bit giddy by then.

We headed home to feed the pets and to drop off our bags. Then it was off to dinner at a Thai place. The food was nice but even nicer was just chillin' with Evelina & chatting over dinner.

The next morning we headed to a local antique shop. We had a great time walking around picking up bargains. I did have my eye on a lovely little cabinet to paint up and store my quilts or fabric in. I may go back yet who knows ;-)  Evelina picked up a cute flowerpot, some little glass jars and a pitcher. I did find a bargain, a pair of small silver plated goblets. They were all tarnished but there was something so pretty about them  - plus they were only $2.00 ! Yep, couldn't let them get away, in fact the sales clerk asked me if I really wanted them because he liked them too. After he rang me in he was going back to see if there were anymore. We are definitely going back again!!

Aren't these beautiful !!

Then to finish off her birthday celebration we went for lunch at this wonderful bakery called Nove Era. We had a fresh made sandwich, a drink and of course some more time spent together chatting.

I was so thankful for the time Evelina and I spent together. We text daily however nothing can replace the fun of being together in person giggling about how we can sneak all our little finds into the house.

As for her birthday card I had coloured up this cutie from Unity Stamp Company. I added some fresh paper, ribbon and button. Voila a card just for Evelina !

Thanks Evelina for letting me spend your birthday with you :-)

I hope everyone has a great week!

Hugs, Diane
