I love the simplicity of this birthday card. It was Jake's, my daughter's boyfriend birthday last month. I've mentioned before that he is a country boy and they have a beautiful farm about 40 minutes from our home.
I saw this wonderful stamp set from Close to My Heart and knew immediately it would be the perfect set for Jake.
All the products used are from Stampin' Up with the exception of the stamp set. I simply layered some striped DP on the card stock, added a little plaid DP, then the stamped image. To add a little "male" bling I used a blue button and silver grommet.
I love the finished product. I can hardly wait to use some more of the images from this set.
While I'm on the topic of the farm I thought I'd share this photo.
Every weekend Courtney heads to the farm to help with chores. At this time of year it's helping to feed the little lambs. Aren't they so sweet....
As well one of the dogs, Lola a beautiful black lab had puppies. She had 3 chocolate and 5 black ones. I was so lucky to get to see them. OH my goodness talk about melting your heart!!! I would love to have one of them - heck even all of them !!! I'll keep my fingers crossed that one gets to make it here to our home. Courtney wants one to train for hunting - yes.... I said hunting ! She recently completed her gun certifications for rifle and handgun (not that she can hunt with that one..whew !!) and she has a bow. So they would like to start with a puppy to help when they go out.
Yes, my city girl has embraced the country life on all fronts ! I'm truly happy for her.
I hope everyone has a wonderful day,
Hugs,
Diane
