So last week I said I was going to take the fall decorations down outside...well that didn't happen so my plan is to do that today.
My daughter put up the Christmas tree - yay!! but we aren't going to put anything more up. We have a beautiful lab pup who is in to chewing and destroying everything. So in the best interest of my decorations and his health - don't need any vet bills. We've decided to pass on the putting up all the decorations. It's a struggle for me since Christmas is my most fav time of the year but at the same time I don't want to spend the time continually disciplining the pup or fixing the decorations.
I'm pleased with my most recent completed project. My daughter is an outdoorsy girl so I knew exactly what to do with an old wooden box I had come across.
I painted with the Annie Sloan Chalk paint in paloma and off white, painted on an image of a buck then followed up with the light and dark wax to give it an antiqued look. She'll use the box in her room to store her design plans for school rather than them spread all over the floor :-)
Since I had the paint out I set to work completing a couple of other projects too. I'll post them as soon as they are completed.
As I waited for the paint to dry I finished my Christmas cards. I'll drop them in the mail when I head out to take the dogs to play at the dog park. They need to run off some of their Christmas energy !!
Of course we got some fresh snow so the lab pup Stetson will romp wildy through it while our pug, JD will trot closely alongside constantly looking up as if to say "enough of this silliness can we go home now ? "
Here are some pics of some of the Christmas cards I made this year. I certainly did not make all my cards this year which I'm ok with things are just a little hectic so I have to match my expectations to what is reasonable.
Anyhow I best get on with the day and at the very least get the corn stalks off the porch.....
Have a wonderful Sunday blessed with nothing but joy and happiness,
Hugs,
Diane
