I was away on vacation last week visiting my brother & sister in law in Saskatchewan. I can't even begin to tell how wonderful it was to spend time with them. They made the decision to move across the country last year. A move that has been absolutely incredible for them. They are part of a wonderful community. The kindness they receive from the townspeople is exceptional.
We visited many quilt shops in both Saskatchewan and in Alberta. I purchased some beautiful fabrics to use in a quilt, as well as a great purse pattern and fabric. I will certainly post both when they are completed. I also spent some of my time helping my SIL learn to make a rag quilt. She did an awesome job by the way :-) in exchange she taught me how to use her embroidery machine!
I can appreciate why they love it out there so much. I could so see myself packing up my city life for the rural life - we are so blessed to have such a gorgeous country.
Anyhow I'm now back home and did get a chance to do a little bit of crafting this week. I made this pretty fall wreath from coffee filters - thanks to a blog post I saw on Recaptured Charm. I plan to place it on our front door to welcome all who visit us.
In addition to the wreath I made a few more of the Prima dolls. I coloured them up, pieced on some pretty papers then mounted them in this cute shadow box frame that I have in my craft room. The shadow box was a sweet deal I found at Winner's.
I am in love with these paper Prima dolls!
I hope you enjoy these crafts and have a wonderful weekend !!
Diane
