Where do I begin...redecorating my home has kept me on my toes. As most of you have likely experienced you start with one thing that leads to the next. That's exactly what happened in my bedroom. I thought I would pull up the carpet and replace it with laminate - more durable with the pets. Well naturally that led to painting the walls which then lead to wallpapering an accent wall, then to a thicker more substantial baseboard.. you know how it goes. It's never just one thing.
I'm very pleased with how the room is coming together, however I'm super excited about my dresser that I painted. I had a lovely older dark wood style dresser. I wanted to update it a little, perhaps the shabby chic look. I headed to my new favourite shop Diamonds and Toads to pick up some Annie Sloan Chalk Paint. I LOVE this paint!
These are the knobs I'm hoping for. The shop only had 6 at the time. They were going to see if they could get me 2 more 'cause of course I need 8 ! Aren't they just gorgeous !!!!
This is the accent wall that I papered in this pretty brown and silver stripe. It really is a lovely backdrop for the headboard.
The floors get finished on Monday so I'll finally be back all snuggled in my big comfy bed in my beautiful new room. I love my home so much :-)
I also worked on another furniture piece. I had a little pine accent table that I did in ASCP- Duck Egg Blue. My friend Evelina and I are crazy about this particular colour. We split on a can of the paint - just because we love the colour so much :-)
This accent table was dry brushed with the off white then I added some dark wax added to warm up the edges a little. So very cute !
Well that's all for today, I'm going to head off and work a little more on my redecorating....'cause of course the office carpet needs to be replaced there so I'm off to rip out the old carpet so new flooring can be installed there too!
Have a wonderful evening,
Hugs,
Diane
