Happy Canada Day!

I love long weekends! This weekend is Canada day so there is lots of red and white flying proudly.

I had taken the dogs out for a walk last evening & as I passed one of the areas there was a wonderful street party going on. There was music, kids playing and food grilling up on the barbecue. It made me smile and feel so proud to know that we are able to celebrate this country of ours in such a fun and friendly way.

Of course a long weekend means I have an extra day off work. That actually means some craft time for me. It has been so long since I have been able to spend time creating.

Last weekend we had a girls weekend away at my dear friend Evelina's cottage. It was so relaxing and we all had some craft we wanted to work on. However once we got there we just drifted into this world of utter relaxation. Yes, we did craft but not near as much as we probably planned. Nonetheless the relaxation and time spent together was good for the soul. I'll share a pic of the purse I am sewing once I get it completed.

I did make her a set of these cute little drink holders as a thank you  - gotta love Pinterest!

This week my was nephew's wife Leanna's birthday.  I thought I would make her something fun & funky for her card !

The stamped image is from Mo Manning - which all of her stamps just bring a smile to my face.  The tag cardstock is actually from Michaels. I just covered it with the designer paper. It helped to make it sturdier for standing as well.
I was super pleased with the way this card turned out.

Well, I'm heading off to craft some more. I have completed lots this weekend. I'll share pics of them soon. Some are for birthdays..that aren't quite here yet so I don't want to ruin the surprise :-)

Have a wonderful day!
Hugs,
Diane
